Reflections: Chapter 5 - Barker

The church can make good used of what is discussed in chapter 5, but specifically the idea of cultural homogenization. This thesis proposes that the globalization of consumer capitalism involves a loss of cultural diversity. Although this proposition has negative implications, the loss of cultural diversity allows individuals and people groups to be able to connect and relate easier. In a world that is getting smaller and people have more in common than ever, this is an opportunity for the church to send out workers to the nations as well as reaching our neighbors.
